Odyssea
years active: 1979 - 2002

Popular hard/pop-rock band from Pilsen. Originally a party band named Koule, later renamed to Vozembouch and finally to Odyssea. Under the new name, they started being recognized all over Czech republic rather than jus by a few local fans, and even recorded several singles before the revolution in 1989. Just before the revolution, they shortly use the name Pohoda (which was originally a separate blues-rock band exchanging musicians with Odyssea). After the revolution, they still made new recordings and even albums, but the years 1982-1987 can be considered the most famous period of the band's life. The members are still active after 2000, occasionally performing under the names like Odyssea Classic or Odyssea Akustik. Jan Novy Cimbura has his own band for which he revived the name Pohoda (even though there are a lot of party bands of the same name all around the country).
