Folk-rock singer and songwriter, fine artist, producer, founding member of Marsyas. In 1979 emigrated to USA, after the fall of communism in 1989 he came back. He wrote a number of hits for other interpreters (e.g. song Medvidek for the band Lucie), sporadically performs and records. After 2005, he occasionally performs with revival Kalandra Memory Band. After some time, also Zuzana Michnova and Jiri Charypar (who played with Marsyas in the attempts of comeback in early 1990s) are joining. This might be a chance to rebuild the legendary Marsyas once again. Oskar Petr however also plays with his own band using diferent names (Oskar Band, Spolecenska udalost, Stary deti).
