Peter Lipa (* 30.5.1943 Presov)
Slovak blues singer. Beginnings in Bratislava with college band Struny in 1963. In 1967 another college band Istropolitana where he sings songs of Ray Charles. In 1967-68 member of well-known Slovak band Blues Five. Later member of several famous bands, cooperation with top Czech and Slovak musicians (Dezo Ursiny, Gabriel Jonas, Emil Viklicky, most importantly Lubos Andrst with whom they had the very successful Blues Band). In 80's regarded as European blues singer #1. Since 1990s he has his own projects, always with excellent musicians. Even today he has prominent position among Slovak blues and jazz singers. His collaborations even include No 1 Slovak pop-star Jana Kirschner.
