Lonska, Zuzana

real name Zuzana Langerova, Slovak female pop, jazz and chanson singer; childhood spent in the USA, where her parents emigrated before World War II. After the war, they came back to Slovakia and underwent a hard persecution from the communist regime. Lonska was not allowed to study at the university; fortunately, her talent was discovered by the popular pianist Juraj Berczeller who introducer her to the public. Lonska performed at Tatra Revue in Bratislava; with hter husband Zdenek Kratochvil, they became members of Offerman Combo with which they travelled half of Europe. Since 1966 they went on in Kratochvil's own The New Bratislava Combo. In 1968, they emigrated together to Sweden.
