Fortuna

Vocal group created as a reaction to "flower" bands from US West Coast (Mamas And Papas). Founded by lyrics writer Ivo Plicka (famous for his lyrics written for Petr Novak, but also singer and guitarist by himself) and Jiri Spacil, who played togehter even in 1966 in a school band in Marianske Lazne. Non-playing leader and producer was Borek Nemecek; the band also cooperated with the arranger and keyboardist Pavel Vrba (not to be confused with the lyrics writer) keyboardist Pavel Vrba). In Autumn 1968 some of the members emigrated after Russian military intervention in Czech Republic. After several line-up changes (new female vocalists, bassist K.Sluka instead of J.Spacil), they eventually disbanded in the mid-1969
