Collegium Musicum
years active: 1969 - 2017
band of Slovak rock legend Marian Varga. Established in 1969 after Varga's departure from Prudy (which he had together with another Slovak legend Pavol Hammel). Music based on folk melodics together with keyboard experiments á la Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and Varga's classical music education. The very beginning of 1970s is the band's best period; later several times disbanded and put together again, the last time in 2009 in almost original line-up. The definite end comes with the death of Marian Varga in 2017.
