Synkopy (61)
years active: 1960 - 1990
co-founders of Brno rock scene in the early 60's, together with Blue Effect and Olympic the main representatives of Czech Rock School of 70's and 80's. In the beginnings playing dance music in cover versions; about 1966 inclining to the west-coast style inspired by Beach Boys. With Vesely's arrival changing to melodic hard rock (Uriah Heep-like) and art-rock, even to symphonic rock (Kansas-like); about 1980 droping the number from the band name and becoming more or less the backing band of O. Vesely. Sometimes suffering from too much efort to create "big art". Nevertheless, a number of Vesely's compositions are a part of "Czech art-rock golden treasure". Officially disbanded in 1990. Since 1991, the original line-up (from the years before O. Vesely) meet from time to time under the name Synkopy 61 again to perform in concerts.
