Mayer, Jaromir
active from year 1964
popular singer of 1960s and 1970s, husband of Eva Pilarova (married 1968, divorced 1970), in 1986 emigrated to Canada. After a short rock'n'roll period (e.g. recordings with Mefisto in 1965), he got oriented to spiritless pop music without any artistic ambitions. His pleasant appearance and voice won him a lot of popularity mostly among the ladies' part of the public, unlike musical reviewers. The recognized Czech musical publicist Jiri Cerny played his hit "Hospudko znama" as a repulsive sample of total junk.
