jazz and jazzrock double bass and bass guitar player, Prague Conservatory graduate. Beginnings with brother Alan and Jan Hammer Jr. in the legendary Junior Trio. Thanks to winning an international young musicians contest in Vienna, he got a scholarship at Berklee College of Music, Boston in 1966. He moved to USA for good and started playing with the greatest jazz stars such as Chick Corea, Miles Davis, John McLaughlin, Herbie Mann, Stanley Clarke etc. He co-founded the legendary jazzrock band Weather Report.
