Framus 5
active from year 1963

(originally Framus Five) one of the most important bands of Czech rock music history. Founded in 1963 by two Prague schoolmates Michal Prokop and Ivan Trnka, starting with instrumental guitar music á la Shadows, since mid 60's R&B and soul music. Step by step, Michal Prokop starts to be the most important person, pushing Framus to background. Several times disbanded (inactive 1972-1978 and 1991-2000). In 1980s, thanks to cooperation with Petr Skoumal and poet Pavel Srut, they have 3 excellent albums. In 1990s Prokop involved in politics for some time. After 2000 he sets up a new Framus with several top musicians.
