Janu, Petra
active from year 1972
rock and pop star of the Czech music scene of 1970s and 1980s. She changed her proper name from Jana Petru to Petra Janu to avoid confusion with another popular female swing singer of that time (see Jana Petru). In the early 1970s she performed in Semafor Theatre, Prague. Thanks to cooperation with C&K Vocal and composers Rytir/Petrina (on albums Jedeme dal and Album also with Petr Janda of Olympic), she differs from the number of boring official pop stars of those times. Since 2nd halfo of 1980s she leaves her rock roots and sings pop. She also has several roles in musicals.
