the best known Czech born rock star worldwide. He became famous as a member od the Patti Smith Group. Born in Prague to mother musician and father journalist. In his age of 16, he had his first hit on the Czechoslovak Radio with his band Saze. His father was a reporter with Czechoslovak Press Agency, later a translator for UN. In 1966 the whole family including Ivan left to USA to stay there with father. Ivan struggledto learn the language and to find his place in the musical life in the foreign country. The ultimate breakthrough was only when he met Patty Smith. He played guitar and keyboard on her first four albums, also wrote some great songs, ( "Dancing Barefoot" on "Wave"). After departure from Patti Smith Group, he worked together with many stars like Iggy Pop and John Cale. After the revolution of 1989 he develops many projects back in the Czech Republic. He plays in concerts, records his own CD's, produces CD's of several local rock & pop stars (Garaz, Lucie, Mnaga a Zdorp, Janek Ledecky & others), directs films and more...
