Alternativa
years active: 1978 - 1984
band from Ostrava, originally founded as accompanying band of the folk singer and songwriter Jaroslav Wykrent about 1973 (under the name Nova Alternativa). It's line-up was loosely merging with the band Bukanyri and partly with Flamingo. It was different however in its experimental style on the boundary of rock and jazz. In 1980 Bukanyri and Alternativa finally integrated into one band, performing under two different names (and playing two different styles). After 1981 only Alternativa remains, while the story of Bukanyri came to an end.
