Cech, Frantisek Ringo
active from year 1959

originally drummer, co-founder of Olympic (nickname Ringo comes after the drummer of The Beatles). Later also singer, lyrics writer, comedian and entertainer, moderator, reviewer, screenwriter, playwright. Ib 1965-67 he spent 14 months in the U.S.A. and brought a drum kit and a unique vision of showbusiness back home.For Semafor Theatre, he founded the band Shut Up, which he renamed to Frantisek R. Cech Band in 1972, after they left the theatre ground. He gradually stops playing drums; the more he starts with writing lyrics, management and producer activities, comedian roles in both radio and TV shows. He also succeeds as screen writer and movie/theatre actor, also naive painter or politician. He repeatedly returns to music but the most famous musical years are the beginnings of Olympic and the years of Shut Up with Jiri Schelinger.
