Lubos Fiser

Significant Czech composer of contemporary classical music; also known by his music for motion pictures and TV films, especially fairy tales. Graduated from Prague conservatory (pupil of the composer Emil Hlobil), later studies at Prague Musical Academy. He often took inspirations from historical events and personalities from periods of antique to renaissance. Among his musical inspiration were old masters as well as modern musical trends (Russian composer Alexandr Skrjabin, New Music movement). His works are varied, from large symphonical compositions to chamber and vocal music. In 1990s founded a composers group called Quattro, together with Sylvia Bodorova, Otmar Macha and Zdenek Lukas.
