OZW
years active: 1980 - 1999

(full name Onkel Zbynda's Winterrock), very distinctive new-wave band from Prague, famous within the rock underground audience of that time by their special performances using masks. Founded by the fine arts historian, Zdenek Lorenz, employee of the National Gallery and an amateur film director. The band was active with several breaks and in different line-ups until the end of 1990s; the plans on reunion were thwarted by the death of the leader Zdenek Lorenz in 2014. The last concert was performed to lauch the CD Motorlet (historical live performance) and pay homage to the late leader on 25th February, 2016 in Vagon Club, Prague.
